Sharpay knocked on Marissa's door and held in her hands a huge cake. She didn't know what to really give her, so a cake was always a good option. It was perfect. It had chocolate frosting and a light green border of perfect icing, and in the same icing was written 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY.' Sharpay was so happy she hadn't forgotten and happy that Marissa was older, too. She waited impatiently, hoping she'd open the door soon.

Marissa quickly opened the door when she heard sharpay. Knowing Sharpay she knew she was getting impatient even though it hadn't taken her much time to go down the stairs. Today was her birthday. Twenty years old. Still not leaglly able to drink but what did she care. Most people forgot about the day anyway. Being the pessimist that she was she never really cared too much for them. Just another year closer to death in her opinion.

"Happy birthday!" Sharpay smiled. "I bought a cake." she sang. "I hope you like it. It's supposed to be the best cake in all of New Mexico." she added and walked into Marissa's house. "So, twenty years! Wow. You don't look a day over 17." she smiled. She wasn't sucking up, really. She was just stating the honest truth.

Marissa hugged her friend. "Thank you!" She said happily. She was glad someone remembered. Well of sharpay would've. They were really good friends now. Marissa had even been Sharpay's maid of honor at her wedding. SHe let her in and put the cake on the kitchen counter. "Wow." She said after hearing about the cake. "You didn't have to do that." She said.

She hugged her back, then followed Marissa into the kitchen. Sharpay shrugged and shoved her manicured fingers into her pockets. "Well, I felt I should. We really don't hang out often enough." Sharpay said.
