Jen was sitting up on the stage, indian style. It was free period so she decided she'd go to the theatre and write a song. Acoustic Guitar in her lap, notepad beside her she sighed. She hadn't gotton very far yet. Jen started to play what she'd written so far
You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset She's going off about something that you said 'Cause she doesn't get your humor like I do
I'm in the room, it's a typical Tuesday night I'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't like And she'll never know your story like I do
But she wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts She's Cheer Captain and I'm on the bleachers Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find That what you're looking for has been here the whole time
If you could see that I'm the one who understands you Been here all along, so why can't you see? You, you belong with me, you belon-
She stopped when she heard someone walk in. Jen looked up at the person.

Adam had been wandering through the halls of East high. He had a free period and no way to spend it. He wasn't in the mood to get harassed by the jocks so he went to a place where you normally wouldn't find them. The theatre. He figured it would be a quiet place to chill but when he arrived there he heard some girl singing. She sounded really good. Adam slowly walked in, trying not to disturb her singing but suddenly she stopped - most likely noticing him. "Umm, hi" He said a little awkwardly, "You don't need to stop on my account.. it sounded very good"

Jen looked at the boy and blushed slightly as he complimented my singing. "Hi," she said "and thanks." Jen said. "But i was almost finished with what i've got. It's not finished yet" Jen said. She stood up "I'm Jen"

Adam smiled a little as he saw her blush. It was cute. When she began to speak he paid close attention. So that was an original song of hers. Interesting. She appeared to have quite the talent. "Well so far so good." He said, "I'm Adam, it's nice to meet you Jen" and then added, "Are you new here?" He wasn't sure, considering his geeky status among his peers she might have just been some girl that he didn't know about. Or she could be new. He'd know the truth in a matter of seconds.

Jen nodded "yeah, i just moved here from New York" she said. Oh how she missed New York. Of all the places she had lived, New York was her favorite. She loved everything about it.

"Wow, that's pretty cool" Adam had never really left Albuquerque much. He left a few times but if he did leave it wasn't to go far. "What was it like there?" He felt the need to ask that. He was curious about it as New York was a place that he thought would be cool to visit.

Jen nodded about the cool part. "It was awesome. Everyone there is just so nice and stuff. There's no one that's shy, everyone's outgoing. And during the winter, it snows like every week. In the summer, it's really hot. Oh, and at night, in Times Square, the lights are incredible. It's amazing" She told him. "I love it there" She concluded.
As much as she loved new york, she hoped to not have to move back again. She had moved quite a lot, because of her dad's job. And, for now, she wanted to live in one place for a while.

This girl seemed to be quite thrilled to talk about where she used to live. He smiled and nodded his head slightly as he listened to her speak. "I've always wanted to see Times Square.." Adam said and put one hand in his pants pocket. "Although I'm not sure if I'd want to live around there.. oddly enough if I had to move I'm pretty sure I'd miss this place" He said to her before looking around for a second. He was almost surprised that Ms. Darbus hadn't popped out from somewheres - her being the drama teacher and all. She basically lived in the theatre. He was glad that she hadn't showed up though. She was a tad bit scary.

Jen nodded. "Yea, times square is really cool" She said then paused a moment. "I've lived in so many different places, i can't even count how many times i've moved" She admitted. "My dad's job takes us all over the world, so i'm used to moving. But, this time i hope we don't have to move, for a while at least." Jen said

When she told him about her dad's job and having to move a lot Adam wasn't entirely sure what to think. That was sorta on the edge of being cool and bad at the same time. It was cool to do a lot of traveling but if you moved a lot then you wouldn't get a steady group of friends and you might miss out on stuff. "I see, well hopefully you won't have to move any more.. I mean it's really nice around here, I'm sure you'll make friends quickly and stuff.. the teachers aren't too bad.. just darbus but if you like music and theatre she'll probably leave you alone." He said quickly, rambling some what. He didn't mean to, just sometimes if he got nervous he'd ramble and meeting new people made him nervous so yeah.
