Its been 4 years since Ashley has seen Chad and recently found out he was coming home and he had no one to pick him up. She had raised Aaron into a basketball loving fiend who has asked about his father every day since he left to play in the Boston Celtics. He has become on of the top players in the NBA and has lived in Boston and has not come home since.
Ashley got a text from him earlier asking her to pick him up, he also said he wanted to talk alone so she decided to leave Aaron with her father for the day.
Ashley parked her car and walked into the airport and searched for Chad's baggage claim, anxious to what he would say, what he would look like, her palms became sweaty and her stomach was in knots.

We have reached our destination of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Please watch your step while exiting the plane and please take all of your belongings with you. Thank you for flying with us, and we hope you have a wonderful day!
This place looks the same as I left it. Chad had leaned over and looked out the airplane window. He saw sunny and welcoming New Mexico, just like he remembered it from 4 years ago. Has it really been that long? He thought to himself. Although it was more of an impromptu decision to leave Albuquerque, he felt he had made the right choice. His career was going well, and he was living the dream he had wished for himself since he was 4 years old. Of course, everyone who knew him knew he would achieve his dream sooner or later. He was so caught up in his dream career, however, he had forgotten about the memories he had left in New Mexico. He was glad to be back.
Chad had his carry-on luggage bag over his shoulder and began to walk into the airport. He knew she would be there to greet him. Ashley. He thought as he looked around the room for her. They had talked while he was away, but this was the first time he would physically see her in about 4 years. As he turned to his left, he saw the blonde haired girl looking a bit nervous.
Hey! Ashley! He yelled in her direction. He put his bag down on the floor, and when she turned to him, he gave her a big smile and opened his arms wide. Guess who's back? His smile absolutely lit up the entire room. He was Chad Danforth, former wildcat and most cheerful person at his high school and group of friends. He knew how to make an entrance.

She saw Chad and all her anxiety went away, she fumbled to put her phone away in her pocket but it dropped on the floor, she didn't even care she kept running towards him.
It felt like its been a century since she's been in his arms.
After a few steps, she was wrapped in his arms and she couldn't stop smiling.
Chad, I can't believe you're actually here she says in disbelief. How was your flight, how have you been she says as she continues to hug him not wanting to let go.

Chad's smile got even bigger as Ashley rushed to his arms. He closed his eyes to enjoy the moment handed to him. He was back in his hometown after being away for four years, and he had his best friend in his arms. He didn't want to stop hugging her, and he kept the hug going for longer than anticipated. I'm here! In the flesh! He said to her. His joyful personality shined again, as if he never left New Mexico. My flight was fine, but boring. I don't know what people do to keep sane for 5 hours. It seemed like a lot longer than that. It was pretty peaceful, though. Chad wasn't one to sit still for even a few minutes. He was always up and wanting to do something. Anything to keep from wasting life. I've been fantastic! Being on the Celtics is everything I thought it would be. My team is great, my coach is great, and the crowd at the games always gets me pumped up. He stopped himself. Since he was back, he didn't want to spend all his time talking about his recent achievements. He wanted to live in the now, since he didn't know how long it would be until he visited New Mexico again. Anyway, how are you, Ash? It's been a while since I've called you that.

Ashley smiled at everything Chad said, she has never been this excited for anyone in a long time. She was jealous Chad got to stay there for 4 years, Boston has always been a place she was drawn too she just never got the chance to go since she's had Aaron in her life.
Not as good as you've been she released the hug and pointed to a advertisement for visiting Boston that had Chad and some of his teammates behind him on it.
Who would've thought you would be more famous than the one and only Sharpay Evans?Ashley laughed at herself. Sharpay's career went down after she made a commercial for an all natural toothpaste that later on in the year was sued for causing multiple cases of teeth falling out.
Nah, but really I've been alright. Things have been rough but I'm glad to be home from LA for the month
After Chad had left for Boston, she was approached by a modeling company that asked if Ashley would want to do some catalog work and has been getting small jobs here and there that gradually allowed her to move to LA with Aaron.
I just can't believe you're here she says looking back at him picking up her phone.

He laughed as Ashley talked about Sharpay's career. Well, I'm sure her career will pick up again. She's got talent, I'll give her that. As he was listening to Ashley talk about her modeling career, he noticed she felt happy when she talked about it. He had always thought she was gorgeous, and so to see a modeling company see what he had seen for years made him happy as well. Los Angeles is great, isn't it? I was there for a couple of weeks and I actually didn't want to leave. He laughed to himself. The hug had been broken off when Chad asked how Ashley had been. When she said she couldn't believe he was here, he tilted his head and gave her a small grin. I'm here. And I'm glad you're here as well. I've missed you, you know what? He put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her into a close side hug.
He grabbed his luggage back and the both of them walked over to get Chad's other luggage. So, how's my little guy? Chad asked referring to Aaron. He felt guilty every day about not being to hold him. He was Chad's only son, and wished he could go on his team's tour with him, but he knew that would be next to impossible. He still remembered when Ashley first told him she was having a boy. That memory would always be embedded in his mind.

LA has so many people who want to become someone, it just makes feel so grateful that I at least have a job that I can do and make a living from she smiled and looked at him, but its nice to be home
She was pulled into his side and she snuggled her head into his chest and started to walk with him until they made it to the carousel.
Aaron misses you so much, but he thinks you're so cool for being in the Celtics, he said he wants to visit you during practice one day she smiled thinking of her little boy and how proud he is of his dad.
Ive never seen him so proud of anything but you Chad she smiled at him letting him know that is was alright for him to chase his dreams. I don't think he resents you one bit for leaving, he's going to be excited to see you she looked down remembering that Chad had something to say to her.
She tried to forget about it and asked, So what does your bag look like?

As Ashley talked about Aaron to Chad, Chad couldn't help but feel even more joyful. All he wanted was for his son to be proud of him. To be proud of calling Chad his father. I'm so happy to hear you say that. One of his biggest fears was for his little boy to resent him because he had to leave. Chad had to admit that he was never the best when it came to making decisions about his life. Not only was he making decisions regarding his life, but also his son's. Because he felt so happy about his son, he pulled her into an actual hug, but it didn't last long.
I'm sorry, that was random. He laughed his iconic laugh and brushed the back of his head. My luggage.. um.. ok, this is kind of embarrassing, but it has the wildcat logo on the right side. He let out a nervous laugh, but then he looked at Ashley and they both laughed together. No matter how long he stayed away from East High, he would always be a wildcat. He found his bag (which was a backpack), grabbed it, and put it next to him. So what do you say we just find some place to sit around here to catch up? It has been four years.. He quickly put on his backpack and held out his right hand so Ashley may hold it.

He loves you Chad she knew Chad was destined to be a basketball player and now with him home, Aaron could play basketball with his role model and father.
Still chuckling from the wildcat logo on Chad's backpack, she looked at his hand and grabbed it remembering how nice it felt to fit so well with someone. I think there's a little lounge area just around the corner, come on
She tugged on Chad's hand a little jolting him forward in the direction they were heading. She felt like a little kid with Chad, heath flushed through her body. Ashley, get a hold of yourself, you aren't in High School, this isn't your first date, this is the father of your child, your husband (sort of)
Ashley didn't actually know what Chad and her were, what happened to Gabby when he left for Boston? So many questions to ask but she knew he had some things to say first.

Ashley tugged him towards the lounge area. Just like good old times, he told himself. Ashley was usually the one who walked first, and he followed right behind her. When they got to the lounge area, he pulled out Ashley's chair for her before he sat down. He had brushed up on his manners since he left New Mexico, and he thought it had made him a better person overall. He put his bags down and relaxed in the chair. Glad to be on the ground after five hours of that. He closed his eyes for a minute just to relax completely. He then opened one eye and looked at Ashley. She didn't exactly seem like herself. Like something was bothering her. Because he had known her for so long, he was curious to know what was up.
Hey, are you alright? He asked with a bit of concern in his voice. He put both his hands on top of hers. He felt her hands wanting to slide away, but he used his thumb to slowly rub her hand. Even if she wasn't really his wife anymore, he still cared for her and looked at her as one of the most important people in his life. Years had passed, and so he didn't know what his relationship with Ashley was. When he had moved to Boston, he and Gabriella decided to mutually part ways because of the distance. The good thing is that they ended on good terms. However, when he had left, Ashley was dating Angel Bolton, much to Chad's dislike. He had never liked the guy, but he couldn't do anything himself to change the situation. It was Ashley's life, and even though they had a child together, he couldn't interfere in it every single second. Being away for four years reassured him of that.
