STANDING OUT IN THE RAIN need to know if it's over cause i would leave you alone. flooded with all this pain... before the storm.
for some reason Kaitlin was feeling very laid back this evening. She had surprisingly finished all the loads of homework that her professors had dumped on her and was ready to do something else. It was the first time in forever that free time actually fit into her daily schedule. With university finally ending for a bit and summer starting up again it was no wonder she had the free time on her heands. Looking from side to side in her dorm room, Kaitlin sighed. Corrie had ditched staying at the dorm the second she found out she was pregnant, so now she had the entire dorm to herself until the semester started up again. Kait shifted her eyes around the room. Her senses were telling her that she needed something to hype her up. Hm.. well there were two answers to how she was going to respond to that. Option one: go to a club. Or option two: go to starbucks. Well for one, Kaitlin was too lazy to drive down to a nightclub. Plus she had nobody to go with and there is nothing more embarrassing than going to a nightclub by yourself. She would know. Kaitlin's last option was Starbucks then to the mall. That could work out. After all, it wasn't that far a drive from campus and she could bump into somebody while stopping by. Starbucks it is. Once Kaitlin had left campus all of those thoughts escaped her mind. Now all she had to do was focus on driving, then it would be time to indulge in some Starbucks coffee. These days coffee was definitely her weakness to anything. Most of the time she'd rather ditch class for a vanilla bean frappucino, but that was only when she was extremely desperate. Today, though, there was only free time and traffic holding her back from getting to Starbucks. The smell of Starbucks waved away her thoughts as Kaitlin parked in a parking space closest to the entrance. Hopefully nothing would ruin her almost-perfect day.

"Ouch." Kherington hissed as she hopped into her car. Evidently, trying to be 'macho woman' and carry more than two bags while in heels wasn't such a great idea. She quickly tossed the 4 bags into her back seat, before sitting her new Balenciaga bad down next to her in the passenger seat. She strapped herself in as she adjusted her rearview mirror. After putting on a new coat of lipgloss, and re-applying her eyeshadow she was ready to go. Kheri slowly pulled her car out onto the open road. Normally, around this time, she would be laying around her dorm, or in the common room reading, but today was different. She suddenly felt the need for a change of scenery, and that was when she decided to go to Starbucks. It wasn't really 'extravagant', but it'd get her away from feeling 'trapped' in the hellhole that everyone calls school. She made it there in no time. Kherington wasn't really paying attention, her mind too far gone on something else when she pulled into the Starbucks parking lot. She found a spot near the entrance that she was prepared to take when someone cut her off and got it before her causing her to abruptly stop and jerk herself forward in her seat. Oh hell no. She thought aloud as she quickly stepped out of her car prepared to confront the person who she know thought of as 'spot stealer'. "Excuse me, you just totally cut me off just now." She said as she walked around her car to the 'spot stealer' who was just now getting out of their vehicle.

once Kaitlin had parked into one of the parking spaces, she turned off her radio and quickly examined herself in the mirror. She hoped that if she did end up bumping into someone inside the mall, she wouldn't look completely terrible in the process. After all, first impressions are crucial. Kaitlin exited her car and locked it behind her only to find that she was being interrupted by a brunette who looked unfamiliar to her. Excuse me, you just totally cut me off just now. The blonde turned around and shrugged. "Actually.. that's what you think. But what you didn't know is that when I see something, I usually get it." She said and fake smiled, "I'm Kaitlin. And you must be.. bitchy. Nice to meet you." The girl added sarcastically, then looked at her, wondering what her response would be. If she ended up standing up to her, Kaitlin would be impressed because usually people took her insults and left. It was hard to believe that she couldn't recognize the brunette in front of her. To Kaitlin, Albuquerque was too small a city to just go around not knowing somebody - unlike New York, her original hometown.

A small smirk made its presence on Kherington's face. "Ha, funny." She said entertaining the girl infront of her. "But, not quite. Try Kheri." She said, shortening her name to make it simpler for the blonde who she now knew at Kaitlin. She lived by sterotypes and the girl was a blonde, therefore she thought she had no sense whatsoever. Kherington gave her the quick once-over, attempting to figure the girl out. She did look like a spoiled rich bitch, who indeed must always get what she wanted, but that didn't matter to Kherington. This Kaitlin chick wasn't the only one. "Just a heads up princess..." She paused. "....I'm not moving until you take your barbie dream car and remove it from this spot." Kherington leaned against the girl's car, not budging. She knew the girl probably wouldn't, but she wasn't going to back down now.

kaitlin shrugged after hearing her previous reply. right now the brunette, now known as kheri, wasn't going to put up a fight with her. which was rather surprising actually. most of the time what she sent went and it actually bored her a bit - this situation, not so much. she found it quite entertaining and somewhat funny, kheri actually thought she was going to move for her even though she obviously saw the spot first. evidently that didn't matter, she wasn't going to move her parking spot until she was finished shopping and got her frappucino. kaitlin was about to ignore the impatient brunette before she was interrupted by something she said. .. i'm not moving until you take your barbie dream car and remove it from this spot. these words echoed in her head, causing her to stop in her tracks. that wasn't exactly her problem, she could sit down for as long as she wanted on her car and it wouldn't budge. "well good luck with that," she replied, "oh and by the way, if you get tired you can just drag your skinny ass over to starbucks and i might buy you something out of pity. obviously this parking spot means more to you than life itself." at the moment she wasn't sure of that invitation to starbucks was the best idea, but it was worth a shot - at least she'd be off her car.

Pushing herself off the car, she flipped her hair over shoulder and then turned to the other girl. "An invite to annoy the hell outta you?" She smiled, letting out a low giggle. "Tsk, tsk. You seem like the kind of girl to have more sense than that." Kherington shrugged before leaning back against the car. Either that invite could be fun, or it could make her week all the more worse. She took a minute to ponder what would be the best thing to do. She retrieved her cell phone from her back pocket, read and returned the texts that she had, before returning it back to its previous place - trying her best to annoy the Kaitilin chick. Kherington quirked an eyebrow at the girl when she noticed that she was still standing there. "So, are we going or what?" She asked, before moving towards the entrance.

after a while just standing there waiting for kheri to get off her car was getting kind of boring - plus it was taking up way too much time. if she didn't have to be interrupted by her, kaitlin would be wandering the department stores at the mall with her frappucino in her right hand. either way, this little run in wasn't going to benefit her much at all. the girl watched kheri ponder in front of her and noticed that it was taking her a whole lot of thinking before she could come up with her decision. the brunette was taking her sweet time texting and basically holding up kaitlin's entire afternoon. she obviously knew that by sitting there it was beginning to annoy her. "well i'd hurry up if i were you. farmer's tans aren't exactly the best way to start off fall." she said then pulled out her cellphone after getting a blog message from gossip girl. it was her third blog in the past couple days and good thing for her, she wasn't in this one but a whole lot of her high school classmates were. so far three of them, scratch that, five of them had gotten pregnant and four of them were either married or engaged. kaitlin found that upsetting in a way, they had just graduated and instead of enjoying the life ahead of them they were already having their future all planned. the blonde's thoughts were interrupted when she noticed kheri beginning to walk toward the entrance. so, are we going or what? kaitlin looked up and shrugged, "guess so." she said then followed her through the entrance doors.

Once inside of Starbucks, Kherington made her way to the front counter. She abruptly turned around to face the girl, "So that offer still stands?" She asked complete with a head tilt. "I mean, you are still paying, aren't you?" She said, smiling softy. It would have been no problem at all for Kherington to pay for her own drink, but she couldn't be rude and decline the nice offer, now could she? Not even giving Kaitlin a chance to answer, she began speaking again. "Venti mocha frappucino, kay thanks." She smiled brightly before turning on her heel and finding a table close to one of the windows. She flopped down, making sure she sat on the side that was facing the counter. She stared ahead as she watched Kaitlin make her order. She slid down in her seat, getting relaxed, as she awaited for the other girl to arrive at the table shortly.

the two made their way into the coffee filled cafe and surprisingly to an empty counter with no line up. it was a good thing to, the quicker she could get this kheri girl off her back - the better. kaitlin looked at the menu above the barista, wondering if she should change her mind and order something else. that would be odd though, she almost always bought the same thing regularly. when it was warm outside she had a vanilla bean frappucino and when it wasn't so warm, she either bought a coffee or a pumpkin spice latte. but it wasn't cold outside at all, so kaitlin crossed out the coffee and latte off her list. considering she wasn't much of the person to enjoy when things changed, kaitlin decided that vanilla bean would be the better choice. after hearing what kheri wanted to buy, she nodded and looked at the barista, "i'll have one tall vanilla bean frapucino and one venti mocha frappucino please." the blonde said, handing a crisp twenty dollar bill in her direction. after receiving her change she tucked it into her back pocket, picked up the two frappucinos and walked toward kheri. kaitlin handed the beverage to the brunette, ".. so we're good?" she said then took a sip out of her drink.
